ESAB Cryo-Shield Ni9 Flux Cored Wire Offers Crack Resistance, Lowers Total Cost For LNG Fuel, Storage Tank Applications
ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has globally introduced Cryo-Shield Ni9, a Ni Cr Mo alloy flux cored wire used for all-position welding of 9% Ni steel LNG fuel and storage tanks with 100% CO2 shielding gas. This modified 625-type wire offers excellent crack resistance and is superior to conventional NiCrMo-3 wires. Mechanical properties are similar to Hastelloy ENiMo-13 flux cored wires but at lower purchase price because of its modified formula. Further, because it uses 100% CO2 shielding gas instead of an argon blend, it lowers operating cost. The wire carries approvals from the ABS, BV, DNV GL, KR, LR and CCS classification societies.

Annapolis Junction, Md. – ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has introduced the Miniarc Rogue ES 180i, a new portable and affordable Stick/Lift TIG inverter with professional arc performance and controls such as adjustable hot start, adjustable arc force and power factor correction. The unit weighs 18.2 lbs., measures 13.5 x 6 x 10.4 in., delivers a maximum output of 180 amps at 25 percent duty cycle and uses 115 – 230V 50/60 Hz primary power.

Annapolis Junction, Md. – ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has updated its Quick Weld Productivity Analyzer (esab.com/esab-qwpa), an easy-to-use calculator for total weld cost analysis, so users can generate a PDF report. The PDF includes a QR Code users can scan with their mobile phone that takes them back to their original calculation and input variables; users can then adjust the variables to create alternative calculations and generate a new PDF report.
The updated calculator includes more filler metal selections for the North American market. Globally, improved links from the QWPA only present filler metals and welding equipment that are available in the country of origin.
