November 14, 2017

Florence, S.C. - Renowned artist Albert Paley and Jesse James of Monster Garage fame each started a sculpture that the other finished. The sculptures were unveiled on Nov. 6 to open the 2017 FABTECH Expo in Chicago ( view video), and they will now be auctioned off at noon, Friday Nov. 17, by the Wright auction house, 1440 W. Hubbard St., Chicago. Proceeds from the sale of the sculptures will benefit the five FABTECH cosponsors, AWS, FMA, SME, PMA and CCAI, supporting grants and educational opportunities for careers in the metalworking trades. For more information on the auction, visit www.wright20.com, call 312-563-0020 or email bid@wright20.com. The auction is open to the public. In addition to in-person bids, absentee bids and bids via mobile device are permissible.

"These sculptures offer collectors a once in-a-lifetime opportunity. This is the first time that Albert Paley has collaborated with another artist, and he might never do so again," says Sue Bartholomew, Director Global MARCOM & Marketing Operations, ESAB Welding & Cutting Products (ESAB is working with the five FABTECH cosponsors to support project). "Albert joined with Jesse because of their mutual passion for supporting the future of metalworking. We hope to spread the word of this auction so that the sculptures can secure the most competitive bid."
