ESAB Holdings Ltd Acquires Automation Positioning and Work-Piece Handling Manufacturer in Asia

United Kingdom – ESAB Holdings Ltd have completed the acquisition of Romar Positioning Equipment International Ltd, an automation positioning and work-piece handling manufacturer with a head office and factory in Singapore and a second factory in Wuxi, China.

Romar was established in 1984 and is today a highly specialised, niche manufacturer and one of the top five companies in the industry for automated welding and positioning technologies. Their key products are column & boom, rotators, positioners and turntables, fit-up rolls, welding tractors and tank welders. Romar has around 200 employees, split almost evenly between the Singapore and Wuxi sites.

The acquisition is part of ESAB’s strategy to enlarge the range of products and accessories to customers and a significant step forward for ESAB’s Welding Equipment & Automation business. The acquisition will secure ESAB’s position as the leading company in the market with the opportunity to grow by selling automation solutions.
